Newchild warmly invites you to the finissage of Andrew Sendor’s debut solo exhibition at the gallery, RIVER, on Friday, November 28, 2025, from 18:00 to 20:00. The evening will feature an artist-led walk-through at 18:30, during which Sendor will offer insight into the concepts and techniques that shape his latest body of work.
The event is open to all, though we kindly ask that you confirm your attendance in advance.
Renowned for his exceptional mastery of representational painting, Andrew Sendor channels this skill toward an investigation of the generative power of imagination. Working through the lens of photorealism, he creates psychologically charged, hyperreal scenes that fuse painterly language with cinematic world-building.
Through fractured visual motifs, theatrical mise-en-scène, and his characteristic artist’s frames, Sendor forges a distinctive pictorial vocabulary in which image and structure are intricately interwoven.
RIVER extends the artist’s ongoing engagement with speculative narrative, further solidifying his unique position within contemporary painting’s evolving discourse.
Born in 1977 in New York City, Sendor has participated in numerous exhibitions across North America, Europe, and Asia. Most recently, The Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum MSU dedicated a solo presentation to his work.
In 2019, he was featured in the two-person exhibition Micro-Macro: Andrew Sendor and Ali Banisadr at MOCA Jacksonville.

His paintings have appeared in a wide range of institutional exhibitions, including the Nassau County Museum of Art, NY; Funen Art Museum, Odense, Denmark; Hudson Valley MOCA, Peekskill, NY; Knoxville Museum of Art, TN; Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, Kansas City, MO; and ARKEN Museum of Art, Ishøj, Denmark.
His work is held in both private and public collections, among them The Broad Art Museum MSU; ICA Miami; The Morgan Library & Museum, New York; Hall Art Foundation in the US and Germany; the Rubell Museum, Miami; and the Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville. Sendor currently lives and works in New York.

Newchild is open Wednesday to Saturday from 13:00 to 18:00. Visits on weekdays outside regular hours or on Sundays can be arranged by appointment. Please note that the gallery will be closed from November 29 to December 4 while we prepare for the new exhibition.
